Have you wondered what it takes to get consistent, high-profile quotes in newspapers and magazines? Are you ready to devote2 days to PR - and, in the process, refine and sharpen all your marketing messages (this will help you make more sales, too!). For less than the cost of one month of a publicist, you can learn exactly how to do-it-yourself.
I know that you're busy. But I know that this program will be worth both the time that you invest..and the money.
Take yourself away from your day-to-day activities and plan out a year’s worth of PR in two days. Whether you know nothing about PR now, or you have had some level of success in the past, this program is for you. Come join me and a group of other motivated businessowners, at a world-class location, at the next PR Intensive.
Some attendees bring an assistant or marketing person from their office (sometimes it's their spouse!). There’s plenty of HOT SEATS with me, NoSweat PR founder Marilee Driscoll, where I help volunteers work on THEIR media plan, to help everyone see how the pros do it. After you return to your office, you can look forward to a 40-minute personal telephone consultation with me (we schedule it at the meeting), AND discounts and offers only available to PR Intensive grads.
You may not know me – but you’ve heard about my No Sweat PR program and you’re checking it out. You definitely know me if you are in the business of selling long-term care insurance. That’s because I’ve positioned myself to be the most-quoted person in the personal finance press on the topic. You can do the same thing with your topic.
Six years ago, I had never had an article published and I had never been quoted in anything – let alone appear on radio and TV! I’m going to teach you exactly how I did it – and how you can do it – no matter what your topic or your business.
Whether your goal is local publicity or national publicity, I’m spilling the beans. You see, I’ve learned all this the hard way – by spending time and/or money on services and consultants that didn’t work out, and some that did (I still use some today – and I’ll share them with you!). The good news is, a lot of these resources are absolutely FREE. You do not need money to conduct a successful media campaign. You just need the information in my PR Intensive.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the hundreds of media hits I’ve gotten, I've been quoted in Money Magazine (for the third time in October 2006), Fortune Small Business magazine, Spirit (the inflight magazine for Southwest Airlines), the Chicago Tribune and The Wall Street Journal (twice!), Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine (I’m not sure how many times they’ve quoted me – 5 or 6, I think), and Bottom Line Personal (three times!). I've also been interviewed on the CBS Early Show, and been on dozens of radio programs, including NPR and ABC affiliates.
But enough about me! The PR Intensive is about raising YOUR credibility and YOUR visibility using the marketing secret weapon that most small business owners never even try: PR. Getting quoted. Getting interviewed.
Here is what you can expect to learn at the PR Intensive
- How to position yourself as an expert source so local newspapers call you for quotes – and even national publications call you.
- Discover how to receive calls from reporters who are looking for expert sources in YOUR topic – from prestigious, national publications.
- How to compile your media list – the editors, reporters, and producers that you will send press releases to, who can quote, interview an publish you.
- Anyone can get lucky and get quoted once – you will learn how to get reporters to call – and quote you – again and again.
- You will learn how to brainstorm press releases that position you as the go-to expert on your topic. You will leave with a minimum of 12 press release topics (most participants will leave with 18-24!)
- Learn how to land an ongoing column in a magazine, and how to get paid for writing articles on your topic.
- Learn about stealth publications – they are widely-read, and highly-credible, and position you as an expert source – but you won’t find them in a magazine rack or the library periodical section.
- Learn how your PR campaign is not just a smart marketing strategy, but how to use your PR campaign to be more effective with clients, to make your web site better, and provide valuable insight for future products, programs and services.
- If you’ve ever wanted to be a published author, PR can make the difference between a six-figure advance and a go-nowhere book proposal.
You’ve seen other businesspeople get quoted and interviewed who didn't even know as much as you do! It's YOUR turn. Come learn how!

Who Should Attend
This program is for business owners who know what they are offering, and are experts in their area. You should know the benefits or your product or service, and who are the potential target markets. If you are not sure what you are selling, and who you may want to sell it to, or if you are very new to the business and not yet an expert, this is not for you.
"I have often thought that I am the best kept secret in my niche...and I was looking for a way to let the world know who I was. Since Oprah hadn't called (hah!), I figured out that I had to figure out how to break into the media, but I didn't know where to start. I've attended other how-to-do-your-own PR programs, but they left me overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward.
After a few hours learning from Marilee, I figured out who should be on my media list, and I wrote my first press release. I almost can't believe the result. Within two days the editor of a regional woman's magazine called me and asked me to not only become a regular writer, but also to give the keynote speech at their annual fundraiser luncheon. The next day, a physician called, asking me to write for his pediatric wellness website.
Marilee, you are incredible! You come from a very giving place and you treat people with so much respect. You help people who don't know PR without being condescending. You are the best. I recommend the No Sweat PR program for anyone who wants to stop dangling their toes over the media pool, but instead dive in head first!"

Dear Marilee,
I wanted to take a minute here and thank you for the tremendous help you
have been to me and my agency. After attending the workshop that you
gave at my company's annual meeting in Las Vegas, I immediately sat
down and wrote two press releases for our local paper. I followed your
instructions, and both were published! Your enthusiasm for our long
term care business and knowledge of the public relations
part of it has taken me to a new level in my business! I am eternally
grateful for that!
I'm looking forward to many years of fantastic partnering with you!
Sincerely,
